The drug heroin is a very strong drug so a level 4 was chosen. This was because Heroin has very strong addictiveness and withdrawal symptoms, short term effects, long term effects and also the impact on society as a whole. When taking the drug, it will result to immediate/short dangerous short term effects that causes foggy thinking, so that it is unclear of the differences between what is considered right and safe or wrong and dangerous, and can also end in a coma of death from overdosing. Heroin is a highly addictive drug, which means that even if taking the drug a few times, it will become highly addictive causing the loss of sight in what matters the most and result to thinking about how to get the drug which can even lead to stealing money to afford the drug. After taking the drug many times, it is not possible to think straight and are not themselves any more. Heroin is both metal and physically addictive. Many first-time users are overwhelmed by the powerful drug which draws them to keep taking it. It only takes a couple of uses a day to get “hooked”. Addicts risk expulsion from school, punishment from the justice system and suffer strained relationships with family and friends. Heroin impacts the individual's life by their parents eventually kicking them out of the house, and if they don’t report the addict to authorities, the individual will crash on the streets or in a run down house with other addicts and criminals. Which can lead to ending up in gangs and dangerous places. Being on the streets and not having much common sense any more, risks them of becoming pregnant at a young age. This could then cause them to have an abortion, which is very harmful to their bodies. This is only one of the many health problems related to heroin intake. The other problems from when the addicts are young is that they don't only effect themselves, but the society as a whole. Just because of one persons' bad decision does not mean other people have to suffer for it.
